Appeal for donation for DHS Year 6 Alumni Xu Zijia, 6C21

Dear colleagues, one of our Year 6 students, Xu Zijia (6C21), is battling bone cancer and is in need of financial aid. We would like to appeal for donation from parents next week. This initiative is spearheaded by Zijia's classmates in 6C21 and together with me, they have prepared a letter of appeal to parents. This letter is attached for your information. We will be issuing the letter to students next Monday.
In the letter, we have encouraged cheque donation to minimise the handling of cash. This will help to ease administration and avoid mishandling of cash. However, if parents choose to make cash donation, I would still need to trouble the FTs/CTs to help collect and account for these cash donations.
FTs/CTs - for students in your class who would like to make cash donation, please help to collect them by next Wed. Pls use the class list to let donors indicate the donation amount and let them sign against the stated amount. Please tally up the donation on the class list before passing both the cash & class list to the AMs for safe-keeping.
AMs - pls help to set up a donation box in the general office from next Mon to next Fri for students to make cheque donation. Pls indicate on the box that it is for cheque donation only. Students from 6C21 will come to the General Office daily to clear the donation box and account for the cheque donation, before passing them to you for safe-keeping.
Staff in general - if you would also like to make a donation, please try to make cheque donation and deposit it in the General Office donation box.
Eng Choon - pls share this appeal with the Alumni too.
I know such efforts add work to many of you but hope that you will bear with it knowing that it is for a good cause. Zijia is battling his bone cancer very bravely. On the few occasions I spoke to him, he was mature, positive and determined. There was no bitterness or self-pity. I wonder if I would be as strong as him given the same circumstances.
